The UNWE Campus K was filled with energy, different languages and smiles when over 80 participants
mark the start of the Erasmus+ semester in the spirit of international cooperation and academic exchange.
The Erasmus+ Welcome Party was held in the shared space at UNWE Campus K officially marking the start of the summer semester of 2025/2026 academic year for incoming Erasmus+ Programme students. The event was organized by the team of the Mobility Department at UNWE International Affairs Directorate and it was attended by students, lecturers and representatives of the university community.
The official host was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yanko Hristozov, Vice-Rector for International Affairss. He greeted the students on behalf of the Rector of the UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and wished them a successful semester filled with fruitful academic contacts and international friendships.

Our university - the largest and most prestigious economic university in Bulgaria and Southeast Europe - welcomes you with established academic traditions, high educational standards and an open international community. I wish you an inspiring semester filled with new knowledge, success and unforgettable experiences – both in the lecture halls and in our beautiful capital city of Sofia", said Assoc. Prof. Yanko Hristozov.
During the evening, the incoming Erasmus+ programme students – Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral students who will study at the UNWE during the summer semester – were welcomed. They come from Russia, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Latvia, Norway, Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, Morocco, Georgia and Kazakhstan, which once again highlights the international character of the academic community.
The event programme included an interactive game for getting to know the University – Get Lost in the UNWE, which gave Bulgarian and foreign students the opportunity to get to know each other in an informal and friendly atmosphere.
Volunteers from the ESN UNWE and Erasmus+ Ambassadors – UNWE students who had participated in the Erasmus+ mobility programme – were actively involved in the organization and implementation of the event, sharing their experiences and inspiring the new exchange participants.
The International Affairs Directorate continues to actively encourage the participation of students and lecturers in international programmes, works to expand the partner network and improve the quality of academic exchange. In recent years, there has been steady growth in both incoming and outgoing mobility as well as increased interest in double degree programmes and intensive international initiatives.
The Erasmus+ Welcome Party once again emphasized the UNWE commitment to the internationalization of education and the creation of dynamic, open and international academic environment.
